Karim Samra
Karim Samra's experience represents a mix of both corporate and entrepreneurial practice.
In his tenure as an investment manager in the corporate finance department of Swicorp SA, a leading Swiss investment bank, Karim structured and raised in excess of USD 300 million of debt and equity financing for both established and start-up companies, including participating in the financing of a multi-billion dollar real estate project on behalf of a listed developer. He then went on to become an associate in the firm's newly formed Private Equity practice, where he was involved in originating and structuring deals across industries and geographies.
His entrepreneurial activities include working for an e-commerce B2B start-up, including participating in early stages of the company’s operations and corporate development, as well as having been the driving force behind a new retail concept, which he conceptualized, obtained funding for, and launched in late 2004.
Karim speaks French and Italian, and obtained his Bachelor’s degree from Boston College in Economic History and is currently pursuing his MBA in finance from NYU's Stern School of Business, where he is a merit-based scholarship recipient and a member of the Torch Committee |
